Yep got a 8x8' roller door for the water front side on the garage on the left (Garage #1 as I call it) where the 63conv will live and the manlift will go in when I save the money next year. This waterfront house and mancave is the culmination of a 24 year dream to relax after a long and relentless war overseas against the scurge of humanity. This cottage on steroids design started on a napkin at our table with a beer and my wife's knowledge of real estate Bling as I call it. Every cent we have is in that home. Built to greater than county codes for the next Hurricane Ivan episode. The garage lay out left to right is Door#1 is Vette Territory; Door#2 is visitor parking; center wall area is gameroom with surfing style Wipe Out Bar and Mancave play stuff pool table ping pong poker table and dart board lane plus four hammocks in rear yard under the deck to get out of the heat Door#3 wife's Honda spot (gonna have a NY Yankees emblem on the floor) and finally my truck parked behind door #4 with a Texas Ranger emblem on the floor. we are a house divided in all sports! What kind of tool boxes are you using and what are you putting on the walls for cabinet storage? I am getting ideas from guys about how to make storage affordable. The crap at the stores is all over priced and every dime we have is in this house, so we are tight with the pennies.

As for cabinets I plan on just using white kitchen cabinets from Lowes..

I've got a SNAPON box but one of my Customers... Harbor Freight has the big tool boxes that are really nice and don't cost a fortune.. We use them in our shops and they take a beating. The biggest thing I've found is make sure it's not damaged from shipping from China then check all the hardware and tighten it..

Thanks for the assist, yeah Lowes are the most affordable cuz anything I put down on the ground floor is not covered by insurance if hurricane washes it away which we are used to here. That's a sweet tool box. Looks like the ones our crew chiefs used over in Afghanistan. If I get one like that I will have to rig a pulley system to pull it up to the ceiling if a hurricane is coming. Probably need a good block and tackle gear pulley or a small winch

Even better...$8K doesn't exist in my tool box budgetAnd I need a didderent color in my garage than red and black. Somehow everything in my garage including cars, tools, pressure washer, air compressor, tool boxes etc are ALL red and black (TOTALLY unintentional)

Sheet rock hung and HVAC installed! I decided to have the stair well hung too but I didn't figure enough rock so 14 more boards deliver tomorrow.. And I know.. the two receptacles on the left wall are a 1/2" low... Not sure how I missed that when I was wiring them up... The saw zaw will come out tomorrow to cut the nails that hold the boxes and raise them up....
It appears that the sheet rockers are about as wasteful as the framers...
Lennox Mini split installation completed and running! Well it's not running now though I opened the breaker and removed the disconnects so that the sheet rockers couldn't run it while sanding....
No more sweating my *** off under a car... I'm so spoiled..
Second line set and disconnect are for the upstairs future use.... No need to have to cut the sheet rock in the future to cool/heat the upstairs.
I cleaned up the garage last night.. I'm ready to paint!!!

Melting Slicks
Rockers get paid by the board as you know. Using a short peace is not in their vocabulary. Anyways, everything now looks first class. Working will be a pleasure in that building. Good Luck

You'll love it! I installed an A/C-only 42,000-BTU Mitsubishi "Mr. Slim" mini-split system in my super-insulated 2600 sq. ft. attached garage in 2005, and all it's needed was a contactor and a thermistor in the outside compressor, both due to mice chewing on wires. Garage hasn't been over 75*F since. The other outside box is my 18-KW Generac, installed in 2003, three weeks before the 3-day northern grid failure.

The Generac is on my list of things for the house. Hurricane season has been quiet for the 8-10 years.. Ice storms have been on the down slide.... It just means the cycle is getting ready to go the other way and I hate to be without power.
Your garage and a few others have been my inspiration.

Primer coat done this past Sunday and color on the wall coming maybe tomorrow or Saturday. Just depends on what tomorrow holds for work. Most likely Saturday.. I picked up 15 gallons of color and 5 gallons of ceiling paint last night..

Looks great! I am starting a new shop build in about a week. My GC is a good friend, so I am past that heartburn. Congratulations, you are almost there!

Thanks guys.. I started painting about 1100 and finished up around 1800 but there was a three hour beer break where three of my friends showed up and proceeded to empty the beer fridge..
Just need to cut in the ceiling tomorrow...
