Default strut rods rear suspension bent?

i am rebuilding the original rear suspension on my 67. one of the lower strut rods is not perfectly straight. in fact, both of them are no perfectly round in cross section - they look a bit rough - but one of them seems to have a very slight curve/bend to it as i look along its length.

does this mean it is damaged along the way somewhere? or is this just the way it is from the factory?

They should be straight. Occasionally a Bubba mechanic would take a hammer to one to adjust the camber if the adjuster bolts were frozen.

I agree and would replace them.

There are a few different ones (replacements) available depending on the vendor. I found the ones from LICS closest to originals. That may or may not matter to the OP.

The ones on my 1967 car were also bent. Possibly from Bubba's hammer or by Bubba lifting the rear by these strut rods.

once they're bent, they'll never have their original stiffness in compression (although they're almost always in tension. They'inexpensive enough not to risk it with straightening bent ones.
