I think the question was what's more popular now, not what you like the best. When I was a kid the coupes always demanded more attention and more money. But i notice recently (and I mean the last 20 years!) that it's turned around with the roadsters garnering more attention and at least equal if not more $$$ at time of sale.
Myself. I love them both, but as a Canadian with a short sunny season, it's GOT to be a convertible. Warm summer nights with my honey at my side.
If I had a coupe it would HAVE to have AC. No question about it.

I agree w/most of this, except, for me, convertible w/hardtop on wouldn't even be on the list. Coupe has those classic lines that a convertible just can't touch. But, I do/did like driving my 58 Convertible too; so, either is good, but, the classic lines of the C2 coupe just can't be equaled.

Up until last month I also had both (see sig pic) and realized every time I went to the garage I preferred the look of the coupe and always wanted to drive the coupe (well, mostly due to LS3 upgrade).
So I sold the convertible. I didn't mind the look of the hardtop, but the rear end of the coupe is just something else and unlike anything else on the road !

The 63 first Midyear the coup was designed for the corvette the single line from the windshield to the rear windows. The lines on the car are great and timeless.
The coups are my favorite in any year Had both .

2021 C1 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
I read some where Shinoda originally designed the coupe first, roadster second. Had a coupe, miss it.

I have had both, coupes ad convertibles. While some say they prefer driving the convertible, it suspect it's just for cruising. The coupe is a much better car to drive at speed because the roof lends a significant amount of stability to the platform - it's a lot more solid and predictable. The convertibles have a lot more body flex either in turns or on rough pavement.

coupe vs convert
Currently there are 289 C2 cars on Auto trader classics. Approx. 100 coupes. There are 29 private sales, the rest dealers. of the 29 it looks like currently 20 verts. and 9 coupes. There is currently a much larger number of verts. out there. More built.
From the response so far from members, to the original question, so far coupes are on top(unless you have one or more of each)
I agree that the lines of a coupe are about the best design of any 2 seat car. I do know that if you do NOT drive your convertible in the rain you will NOT get wet, on the other hand driving in the rain, well, I have been there and done that. We have very unpredictable weather up here in NE. I guess in areas where the weather is more suitable, convertibles are more the choice.
Some nice looking cars you boys have out there. If you can, go for a drive for us frozen members up north.
I am off to Fl. on the 22nd. Can't wait.

I did a survey once and if you look through a bunch of "The Most Beautiful Cars Ever Built" type lists....the split window will come out near the top almost every time.
And that's often up against Bugattis, Ferraris, you-name-it.
