When I was looking to buy a C2, it had to be a coupe.

My 63 SWC racer gets so much attention at the races it's pretty unbelievable. I liked the coupe styling so much I bought a 64 365hp WITH AC. The two together, which isn't often, are just stunning. Automotive crack in my book!

I've always felt that the coupes looked better but the convertibles are more fun to drive. It's hard to beat driving with the roof off in the summer. Coupes are hot in the summer. I've had both. A 2 top convertible is a my favorite.

Had a coupe years ago and loved it, then I got a roadster, if I still had my coupe I would want to saw the roof off every time it was nice weather. but the coupe sure is sharp looking.

Some cars look better in a coupe, mid year corvette & XKEs. That being said everyone needs at least one convertible. Both my vettes are coupes - one has A/C the other is a fuelie. The Healeys are convertibles and I still need a Series I XKE coupe to finish my collection.

I still give the nod to the roadster with the ragtop and blackwalls over the looks of the coupe and have since the coupe was sold 35 years ago.

If I had a coupe it would HAVE to have AC. No question about it.
I am not Canadian but I couldn't agree more.

I don't want my *** kicked for saying so, since most seem to prefer coupe, but for me they are too hot and smelly for good time summer cruising. That's what I got it for. That's what I like. As for looks, I prefer the vert. Never was especially fond of the Buick Riviera.

Nothing like the buzzing along, side pipes humming, top down, that cool, sweet, summer evening breeze mixed with my girls perfume......Damn its cold here today!

Funny the less hair I have the more I like my coupe- which is saying a lot! I wear a ball cap a lot but a shady coupe is good to. Esp. When I get the lovely roofline.

A C2 coupe's spacious interior suggests it MIGHT be a 2+2, if only with an aftermarket backseat for small children. But a hardtopped convertible clearly defines a special, intimate space reserved for just two people.

The SWC is the most desirable coupe because of its one-year-only rear window styling, and 1963 sales split 50/50 between the first production Corvette coupe and its convertible running mate. After that, convertible C2 sales were substantially ahead of the coupes.

IMO that situation led to the removable roof panels introduced as standard on the 1968 C3 coupe!

Nice collection Joe! We have always wanted an E Type, as Enzo said, the most beautiful car ever

I still have some hair left...coverage is getting spotty though.

I was gonna get one of those "corn row" hairstyles like some hip-hop celebs but I have a "crop circle" on top now

Personally I like the vert and didn't even consider a coupe. I put the hardtop on in November and it comes off in March. I like the car either way but my preference is with the top off. It just doesn't get any better than a drive in the warm months with the top down and the side pipes singing.

I know, maybe he is posting under a different name (Mike Ward) (Snake) (Fink) who knows.

I did talk with him not long ago....

Nice sound of a L-79 put earphones on an listen to it. I had the mikes taped to the back of car just above the exhaust pipes.

Waiting for it to warm up. Too cold to work on car...parts of rear ready to clean, but can't with 5 feet of snow.

It will be great to have all new bushings / body mounts and rear end in car. Engine runs great....I would sit in it, but with my luck, it would fall off the jack stands.

Hope to see you this summer.....I am going to Carlisle , never been there and I missed last summer because of a wedding.

I hope to have a mini reunion with many of the hosts from my 48 State Tour. Then on to Pittsburgh . Columbus ?

Jack

So, in summary, if one likes looking at their car in the garage, then the coupe is preferred. if one prefers to look at it wile sitting in the drivers seat, then it's convertible?
I concur.

Gone for a drive,

Russ
