Coupe or Convertible
I think it also depends on where you live…as far as the weather. Here in sunny southern Florida, we have the opportunity to use the top down more often than some northern states (especially this year). I love the classic lines of the coupe…but for me, I love hearing the engine with the top down and driving down the street with the wind blowing…only to come to a stop light and try not to look to the left or right side of me knowing the people at the light next to me are checking out my classic beauty (coupe or convertible will suffice here in this situation)….as the guy in the car next to me starts to roll down his window only to throw a number at me…as in guessing is it a 64 or 65…happens all the time. Heck, it's part of why we all enjoy these classic beauties so much…the attention, the fun of driving a classic…and a feeling like no other that takes you back in time to a simpler place and a better time…like driving a time machine…an investment you can own and enjoy at the same time. There are not too many of things in this world that you can do that with. So, getting back to the original question…coupe or convertible…it's simply a matter of individual taste. I seem to think the convertible draws more attention with the top down yet that awesome rear window on the coupe…well, there's nothing else on the road that can be mistaken for a mid-year Corvette. Of course, to be politically correct, you could own one of each and have your pick of which to drive. The mid-year Corvettes truly are a work of art…they look great moving or just parked.

IMO, coupe and convertibles are both great cars. I really like the appearance of a convertible with the soft top up and the joy of a convertible on a warm day with the top down is great. Having said that, I am really looking forward to the day the 63 coupe is ready to drive.

I think the point of the OP's question was to know, all other thing being equal, which would bring more money in today's market. From what I see, it "seems" that the convertibles have a slight premium, despite being greater in number.

I like coupes best. Just the look and design get to me. I do like convertibles with side-pipes and a hardtop and sitting low. But all in all coupes are my favorite. (bias cause I own one).

I dont mean to sound biased but COUPE COUPE COUPE.
We in London are not famed for great weather but nevertheless, cars that have a roof that slope into a back side always look better than a coupe. Porsche 911, VW beetle, Mustang Fastback etc. Not to mention, I think in the UK only, (not USA) a convertible says something about you that is not so good. Its a little too "NOTICE ME". Over there you guys have a much nicer climate, maybe I'd feel different.

Unless the coupe has a more desirable (bigger, more powerful, maybe even original) engine than the convertible.

I have owned both styles and by far the coupe is the better looking of the two. Frankly one of the best looking vehicles ever made.
Also, since I drive my 65 a fair amount on trips there is a practicle side to a coupe. You can pack them with a lot of stuff that a convertible would never handle.

2018 C2 of Year Winner
When I was looking for a C2, it was coupe all the way. Never thought I would find a SWC, or a 67 in my price range!!! Patience and an increased budget...by a bit (don't tell the wife) and I bought my dream car!!!!!

I have all coupes ....... except the wives convertible. When I find the elusive C-1 I am searching for it will wear a hardtop, .... thus a coupe in disguise. Just wanted to let you know I am not prejudice.
