It's hard to believe that this car rolled off the assembly line 50 years ago today on 2-26-65... Happy Birthday, "Hot Wheels"!!

Did you ever think you'd own such a nice piece of history like this? I had the dreams, the magzines, the photos, the passion, and the desire but it took me in to my 60s until I could have a C2. I appreciate it the more I drive it and the older I get. Here's to another 50 years to a classic piece of art we can drive and enjoy and not just hang on a wall and look at..........

A year and a half more until mine reaches the same milestone.
Time goes by and owners age, but Sting Rays never do.

I'm the guy between 004 and 006, although 007 gets all the attention. That doesn't bother me because my wife is a 10.

I removed the letters and numbers from the photo - other than the "5" - to protect the innocent.

Gentlemen, thank you for all the kind words and birthday wishes! These Midyears really are such beautiful cars; a timeless design that will look as good in another 50 years. As AZ said, these cars are classic rolling art and I feel very fortunate to own and drive a C2 Corvette. I was going to get a birthday cake, but I bought her a "Happy Birthday" balloon instead and it's tied to her antenna. In two months, I will also celebrate my 50th birthday and will join the "Big 5-0" club as we look forward to many more miles together.

Happy birthday to your great looking family member. Hard to believe she's 50. Mine wasn't too far behind yours on the assembly line and will be celebrating next week.
