Another POLL: Original Colors or Not?
I'm going to try posting this polls since the "original engine" poll is more interesting than a simple thread about that common topic.
After I set this in motion, I will be away from the CF for a good part of the weekend, I hope you guys enjoy more discussion here
FWIW my car has a little original paint left, Daytona Blue, and my interior code is for a Silver/Blue combo interior which is now (temporarily) all dark blue.
PS: I have selected the option that let's you vote more than once, for those lucky enough to have two or more corvettes. See if it doesn't work...

My Glen Green 65 convertible is still Glen Green and matches the GG paint code. When I was young and didn't know any better I changed the interior color from the correct saddle to a standard/Black. It was 1971 and I was a teenager. I never changed it back.

I would answer this, but I don't give a hoot about polls.

Yes my interior and exterior color match my original tag.
I had a new interior put in, carpets, seat foam and covers in 2001 because the original seat material started to crack from being so dry.
The car was re-painted (original color) in the early 1970's. I got the car in 1989.

I do not care ...either way. I paint other peoples Corvettes...and i leave that up to them.
I always tell my customers to do what THEY want and not worry about what others THINK. Life is too short to live by other people standards. Remember...IN MY OPINION.... "It is not your job to worry about what other people think."
A car is only ORIGINAL ONCE....so once it is repainted....it has been repainted....and for some who worry about that kinda stuff...that was wrong to do so.
Some worry about what 'others' think and paint it as GM did...even if they hate the color...because they are worried about re-sale and it being original...which I tell them...it will NEVER be ORIGINAL AGAIN once I sand on it. And if they are worried about people who look at the trim tag...instead of how sweet the car looks...I can tell you there are a lot more people who want a really good looking car than those who are all caught up in 'numbers matching....which is true when you can see many of these 'resto-mods' that surpass the prices that an original can get...obviously depending on rarity of the Corvette.

I'm starting to wonder how many different threads we need to continue arguing about original, stock, numbers matching, modified vs value.
They are all related to the same disagreement. Maybe we should merge the threads for awhile?

BTW, this original Goodwood Green car was scheduled to be re-trim-tagged and painted Sunfire Yellow to match the first '67 L79 coupe I took delivery on in June of 1967. Luckily, cooler heads prevailed. (To this day, I cannot abide a yellow coupe. It was my ex-wife's idea. I do have a Safari Yellow '68 convertible whose color fits it to a "T" in my eyes.))

I can't imagine anyone changing from Nassau Blue.
I did change the interior from Brite Blue to Brite Blue/White.
And yes, the car does have a spare tire tub (original).

Calm down, fellas. None of this is supposed to be inflammatory, just a curiosity. I have no issue myself with NOM in the least or a correct color combo, I was just intrigued by the engine poll and thought another one could be fun- simply to get a cross section of our members rides. Fun is, strangely, seeming absent in the lives of many here who share a common interest in these old beauties....

In the poll, I voted as having a matching trim tag to the cars color BUT there is a unique situation. My car has a typo trim tag that I have documentation for and which has been validated by Al Grenning, that shows a color for yellow (#984AA) but the car is Goodwood Green (#983AA). A good conversation piece but sometimes hard to explain but a letter/picture from the original owner stating he bought the car new and that it was green helps for documentation.

Mine has been repainted to Ermine White paint specs, BUT it has been clearcoated! Yes, that's right - and then it was clearcoated, cut and buffed, even in the jambs.

The documentation that I have is the original tank sheet and the POP which has the correct color code. Al Grenning has used my car in his seminars to show that mistakes were made at the factory and there was no double check for accuracy or to correct a mistake.
