Default 64 Coupe Gauge Cluster

On my gauge cluster at the bottom, where the (3) vent cables and headlight motor switch mount, the mounting screws do not screw directly into the gauge cluster. What are the name of the clips called that attach the vent cable to gauge cluster? Does anyone have any pictures and where can I purchase them?

I think you are looking for these. You can pick them up at most auto parts store.

If you are looking for the clip with the nut attached that accept machine screws they are either called 'clip nuts' or 'J' clips.
Check out a local body supply store.

Those are the wrong ones/size..your screws are a different thread count/size....those hold the cluster to the dash...

Darn, I was afraid of that. Which ones are the correct ones? I only want to do this one time on my back.

I believe that only the headlight rollover switch uses those clips. The vent cables screw directly to the dash. But if the holes are buggerd you could use those clips. Do you have a Rona nearby? Mine has a good selection of stuff like that.

The vent cables screw directly to the bottom flange of the cluster with self-tapping screws (no separate clips or nuts) - see your Assembly Manual, UPC 1-Asm, sheet A8.00, items #5 and #6.

The headlight rollover switch installation is shown in UPC 12, sheet B4.00, items 4-5-6; the switch ears go ABOVE the bottom flange of the cluster, and item #4 is a flat #8 Tinnerman nut.

I think Bubba had previously messed with the cluster. I cannot screw the vent cables directly to the cluster, the holes are oversize. Thank you for the information John. I'm into a hunt for a good assembly manual now.

It's a shame those weren't right. According to the ad you referenced, the kit had been reduced from $749.95 to $5.99!!!! What deal.
