Update on 60 Restomod project
Sticking with original frame that's in good condition. Swapping out the 283 (non-original) with a 350 with Edlebrock top end and new cam. New TKO 600 trans package from Silver Sport. Going with Martz front and rear suspension package and a new Mosler rear axle. Wilwood brakes front and back.
Body had numerous cracks and badly filled in speaker holes. Interesting replacement of the rear end to a 62 duck tail look (bought that way) and a modified front end. Still deciding whether to go back to stock front end.
Below are pictures of car at time of purchase. Been sitting in my garage for a year before starting.

Interesting; judging by the front/rear body mods - some other owner clearly wanted a '61/'62 in the first place....

Looks like you're making good progress. I actually don't mind the "XP-700" style front end, which was a popular modification back when these cars were fairly new. At the end of the day, your car, your choice. Enjoy the build and keep us posted.

Do you think someone could have put a 1961 body on a 1960 frame and kept the 1960 VIN?
That front end mod was pretty popular on some of the old gassers. Here's a 1960 I worked on when I was a kid, and actually drove later on for a couple years in the 1970's when I was in my late teens. Belonged to my neighbor, who is now in his mid 70's.
