Default 1961 audio - speaker recommendation

I'm looking to buy the Mark I Out of Sight radio, which allows me to play music from my Bluetooth device without using my non-working Wonderbar Radio.

Does anyone have a suggestion on the speaker I use? I've read that I should use a dual voice Coil 6x9" speaker for mono sound.

Is that right?

I'm concerned that with the top down I won;t be able to hear the radio well. Any other sugestions? I was thinking of fabricating a mount that faced another 6x9 speak towards the floor (mirror image of existing speaker) for added sound.

Any speaker recommendations? I heard retro sound speakers aren't that great.

The windshield does a fair job of reflecting the sound to you, even with the top down, but at higher speeds, you do lose a lot.

That said, i never turn my radio on, i like the sound of the car and the wind.

Ok, so I found this old thread with Frankie The Fink's recommendation of this Eckler's Dual Coil Speaker and a bazooka tube with an external amp under the deck lid.

This thread was from 2011, so I thought there might be an upgrade available for this set up.

I'm now thinking of the same Out of Sight Audio Bluetooth device (Mark III for more inputs/outputs and still completely hidden), the Eckler's speaker and a Bazooka BTA6100 sub, which has an amp within the tube, saving the step of having a separate amp under the deck lid.

Any issues with this setup? Frankie, are you still happy 3+ years later?
