Leave them alone and mount with pride.

That was quick thinking....... I have a friend with a 59,.... anyone have a free injection unit ? ( we need two of them ).

Whatever, keep them then. If it's that big of a deal then I'll just tell my friend who does have a '66 and does need a gas door that he can't have it now because people on the forum got their panties all tied in a knot when they found out that I'm getting two well used ones that are driver quality and they think that I'm hoarding them.

HE'S TAKING ALL THE FREE ONES, OMG !!!

I don't want to cause any waves so never mind. Sorry I asked.

Thanks. It's a fun little car! I'm surprised how much attention it gets when we're out driving!

It's weird. The ones on my car are shiny but they are pitted. That's why I thought about changing them out. Most of my chrome (sadly) is pitted.

Default The proper thing for advice would be to post more pictures of your car!

Advice is worthless just based on seeing those parts!

30 years of being in the family! i would suggest that you get after that rust, because German Porsche 356's will rot from the inside out.

with this car. The state of the garage owning hoarder is the problem here. Whoever has a non-productive type of garage, where nothing can get done!! No work will happen for those cars and it will only get worse! time for an intervention! Or a Psychologist!

But pitting can add character. Put those back in the box and relish in your pitts. I want bad chrome.

Yeah, I'm learning quickly about the rust issues!! This ones pretty decent but definitely has its problems...Usual areas - door bottoms and floor spots 😕

Thanks. The car has lots of little cracks appearing around the window corners etc. The windshield and rear glass have never been removed. Finally some nice weather!!
I am driving to Boston today to get some whole belly clams. YUM. About a 400mi trip. Cant wait to hear the motor hum on the highway. I will post some more photos when I get home. Thanks again.

Man, that sounds like a good time!

Also, it's great to see all the cars submitted on this thread.

Even though, I'm probably going overboard on rebuilding our '62, I still hold a deep appreciation for the cars with a bit of wear and tear on them!
