Thankfully, one intrepid company isn’t sitting on their hands and waiting for Chevy to release their own mid-engine Corvette.

The proportions look all wrong to me, almost like it's going backwards.

Beautifully made, but awkward and ugly.

That's a perfect example of a guy having way too much money, no design sense and a desk like Tony Montana in Scarface - covered in cocaine. Put them all together and you get the Trifecta Turd. Ugly, disgusting and hideous....Sounds a lot like my prom date...LOL....

Its a good effort but I think GM and Shinoda got it right in '68.

I don't think "good" can be attached to that... I mean, it is his car and he can do what he wants of course. But, ya, it is not doing anything for me.

I just don't understand the attraction of mid engine, the current generation are extremely well balanced. Maybe it could be a little lighter, but not much...

50/50 weight distribution is not problem. It rotational forces caused by the polar moment of inertia. Mid engine location can improve this problem dramatically.

Innovative... different... creative. Everything the purists here hate.
Very cool car.
Be interested in finding out how it handles. Love it when somebody thinks outside the box.

Im sure alot of time and money was spent doing that, but i think its hideous. Im sorry. I dont get it. Why cant people let classics be? You cant out do the mid 60's corvettes with customizing. Especially the coupes. Shinoda was pure and on the money with his design.

I have to agree. I think they did a great job and I actually would say I like it.

Should have studied the Italian mid engine designs. Heck even rear engine German cars look right compared to this. Better still left well enough alone.

Default It's a matter of perception

I didn't like it at first either, but it has been growing on me. I believe that we as a group have such an ingrained perception of what a C2 "should" look like, that our minds reject this out of hand. All of the "non-Corvette people" I have shown it to liked it.

my.02

The design shown above misses the mark for me.

But Chevy came close in the late 60's.

And as an outsider looking in - it seems that insurance companies, the oil embargo, Duntov's retirement and chev's infactuation with rotary engines, stalled the development and production of Chevrolet's mid-engine 1969 XP-882 and later Aerovette from moving forward....but it would have been interesting to see the Aerovette and the Ford/DeTomaso Pantera duke it out on the track and in the marketplace......

Let's hope no actual C2 was involved in this project. Some things just can't be improved on and to me that's the MidYear Corvette.
