As far as ride height, I am a "stock height" guy. Not into lowering.

The reason for exploring 15x7 wheels is for more wheel options for my 67.

Vintage 15x6 with 3.66 backspacing is catch as catch can. The ones that do show up are usually $2000+ Torque Thrust Ds. Honestly, that is outside of my budget.

Sounds like 15x7 with a 4" BS might be worth trying....

But on almost all of the above replies and past threads read, I could probably pinpoint why many had success with what they got to fit! If you aren't lowering the car, then the arc or swing of the suspension movement "probably" would tuck a 7x15 rim especially with that 1/4 inch that the units you are viewing have, provided the tires are of a smart chosen profile. The car with the rally's is running a redline style tire, which isn't as hard to fit and size as a performance radial with a flatter footprint! Some of the others I can see that they are running shocks or springs that could be holding the tire off of the fender in their chosen driving style. If you had 4-1/4, but definitely 4-1/2 BS then those 16's and 17's work just about all day, all of the time, with 16's needing clearancing checking, but not as much as a 15! Some of the member cars that I have seen in threads, if I drove it with their rim/tire combos mounted, I could probably induce tire contact to the fender with how close some of these look, but maybe they don't drive them like that!

Sounds like a lot of fun, and I will just sit back and watch!

After all of the research my car contacts and the guys wanting to start arguments, the upset investor crowd, the NCRS guys trying to relay how insulted they felt by me, the can i buy your parts, the sensitivities of some members and lack of realization about what was truly a joke and more scenarios, I will just keep the comms to or in the threads! heck no!! But what's up? I never mind a little side chat. As revfan can see, I may joke and such, but i sincerely would like him to find a good fit and purchase for success and i hope i have been helpful here!

Rev, save your money on wheels and get a nice set of redlines. They really look good on a blue car.

If he's got white interiors, the whitelines may work better

Great fitment on this super cool car! We just need to figure out the conversion from race sizes to a street tire. The Goodyear racing tire website has spec dimensions on their offerings. You can see Rex put in some extra Castor on his alignment and the fenders size the fenders appropriately with the top north pole of the tire perfect relationship to the fender and good for the turning radius!

And the rims that excite me, usually are the ones where people not only want what's in my wallet, but also expect me to trade my girlfriend or worse to get them my first born child as part of the deal. So Rex what would you take for those real MAGS? and you had better not answer that, because I won't want to be you anymore if you answer that one!

I have to go watch my Gold dredging show now. derek out!

PS Rex my pet peeve, I know I could look it up if I wasn't all horizontal on my sofa tonight being super lazy, but WHERE IS YOUR BS on yourv rims for these other guys? Smile thing here! Thumbs up thing too!

15x7 with 4" or 4.25" BS should be good to go for your car.
Drum brakes, more clearance than discs! 15x7 common 3-3/4 BS is easy

You still can't go wild with tires, but I would think you should be OK.
Using a base common rim an AR 15x7 with 3-3/4 bs

On these 16x8's they would have 3/4 inch more than the base inward! The 8's are one inch bigger than a 7 inch rim, so you have 1/4 more if you just take the rim only outward. The 16 gives more clearance on the ID, but not enough to leave the parking brake cable be. At 17, guys don't have that problem it seems. So why is 1/4 outward working, the 16's have a shorter aspect ration (shorter side wall- therefore grab that size tire OD should be looked up, but without checking I would bet it is a smaller OD tire. It clears??? BC has a stiffer better handling type suspension, hold it off of the fender better, but I bet if putting suspension to the limit, clearance is close.
I would say this is the max, but it needed mods and probably wouldn't on some cars that aren't as square or have softer ssuspensions or worn springs!

In the last scenario we had 16x8 and these are 7's! 1/2inch less BS than the 8's, but the rim is not as wide so you pick up 1/2 inch to the inside and 1/2 inch to the outer if I am thinking clearly. The benefit of slightly more ID, but 7's dont need park brake cable relocate. Member says if his BS was1/4 inch less, he would probably rub! They work, but that close!

Compare to base 15x7 3-3/4, would have 1/4 less clearance to the outside than the 16x7 and a 1/4 inch more clearance to the inside than the 16x7.

Guys I don't have all night, so i will post up a picture, let me load it. I said make a template, get some graph paper or at least lined paper! Do the same for the tires adding those over this simple rim diagram!

What is the best BS number for a 15x6 on a '67 disc brake car fitment? Again, thanks for all your input.

Also, what are the BS of your magnesium 15x6's, Dr. L88?

Thanks

If it helps any, I have a '64 with stock suspension that has 15x8 Cragars on it. They list this rim as 4 1/8 backspace (I get 4 1/4 when I measure) and they fit the car but do not appear to have any extra room and the drivers side rear rim rub the spring when the suspension is slack. It has 235/60R15 BFG's on it. I just converted to factory disc brakes on the front and the Cragars hit the calipers. I just ordered a new set of 15x7 wheels, I went with a no-name copy of an American Racing Torq Thrust because they offer it in a 4" backspace instead of 3 3/4 and I intend to use my same tires as they are brand new. My wheels will be here Monday, I'll keep you posted.

JC
I believe the original ralleys for 67 were 15x6 with 3.66" back spacing. I don't know how much higher in Back Spacing you can go though.... and I am not sure how low will work either. 3.5"? 4"?

Here ya go Derek..........................original 700-15 Goodyear Bluestreak Sports Car Special race tires on original 15 X 6 magnesium TT D wheels. American Racing TT D 15 X 6 wheels have 3.75 back spacing.

Here's a shot of the stance with the race tires........................looks pretty cool but the ride on 50 year old race tires leaves a lot to be desired.
