thanks guys appreciate the comments, question I bought oil cap correct fuel filter and bracket, battery tray hold down j bolts, radiator cap, floor mats little things that are missing or rigged, installed said items good servicing and drive it. my question is, the rear axle back exhaust is junk, it needs to be replaced asap, I love the side pipes, i know 64 did not have them but i really like them, I have been told by two people to not put pipes on that car? It would be a kit from allans. any body have thoughts on that?
What I would do is go with the N11 off-road exhaust. You get a cool rumble from the pipes, but stay with a stock configuration. Send a message to Chattanooga... he went with the N11s... and has basically the same car as you do.

And he is in TN... hmmmm.... the Tennessee Corvette Mafia...

I have side pipes on my 64 and I love them. Corvette central has an excellent write-up with pictures on the complete installation process.http://tech.corvettecentral.com/2012...on-a-c2-vette/

if they keep raising taxes on small companies, being in the mafia.. makes sense sometimes. I had a good year hence buying the car. man they want a lot of money. anyway i did replace things listed above, set timing and dwell and carb, sounds and revs so much better very happy. Need to run out or drain the 87 octane. I put 5 gallons 93 and 5 gallons rocket racing fuel 106 in my 69 camaro. gonna try that for a tank, my 69 loves it.

Before you even think about do-dads like side exhausts you pull those wheels off of all four corners and examine those old drum brakes. They may 'feel' fine but be "on the verge" of major (and exciting) issues...

First thing I did on my '63 and it was a good thing. Must have been 1/2" of built up crud all over every wheel and two wheel cylinders had fluid in the rubber end cups.

Wound up putting in all new brake hoses, shoes, spring kits, self adjusters, wheel cylinders on all four corners and flushing a couple quarts of Campbell soup-looking old brake fluid out of the system!!

Next grab that clutch pedal with your hand and give it a good side-to-side wag; any play there and the weld at the top of the pedal arm is busted. Have to deal with that ASAP.

These things will put you on foot....tatty exhausts prob won't...

Frankie speaks the truth regarding brakes. I did the same.

And your L75 will be perfectly happy on 93.

Nice find. Hope you enjoy it. I bought the twin, same color, engine, bright caps, leather, and side exhaust. I wish mine was another color. A trip to the paint shop is in the future.

I had already started the brakes and draining all fluid when I started this thread, done today. correct fuel filter assembly. battery tray was a pita!
Question, I was going to get a key made for the alarm, it works but it is a 1 inch push button mounted by the e-brake handle, I am sure it was installed in a different way? I kinda like it being era correct. does anyone know the correct way or take it out and throw it away?

That alarm is an add on by some PO. I had the same set up on my car when I first bought it. They did crap like that (drilling a hole to mount a lock, which I assume is what's on your D/S fender) back in the day before they came out with keyless alarm systems. I'm not sure what else you mean by the push button switch though. I ditched mine, had the hole glassed in and re-sprayed to match.

You can see in this pic, the white button by the e-brake, you push the button the siren starts to ramp up. I wanted to do away with that goofy button. after posting this I found a blue wire under the dash with tape on it, thinking it was wired in series with the courtesy circuit.

That's fugly - it would have to come out if it were me. Its apparently a panic button and if its a normally open switch just cut and tape off the wires individually; if its a normally closed switch then the alarm would sound if the wires are cut and you'd have to connect them together and tape them off...

That button and the wires were added by a PO thought the siren was cool? disconnected all that and it works great? There is a relay on the siren that has a constant from the fuse box, the trigger wire is the dome light circuit. It is momentary relay, close the door alarm turns off, lol Im just glad i got rid of the button and bright red wires to it.

Default side pipes

Allens Stainless sells what they call "Ultra Quit" (I believe). I put their 2 1/2" aluminized ones on my car and they sound great without pissing off all the neighbors, and the cops. They've got just enough hot rod rumble and you can still hear the radio. Not to **** anybody off, but the N11 off road original sound are obnoxious on the street. They belong on the track as their name implies.

I run 91 with no problems, probably could run 89.
