Le Mans Master
Allens Stainless sells what they call "Ultra Quit" (I believe). I put their 2 1/2" aluminized ones on my car and they sound great without pissing off all the neighbors, and the cops. They've got just enough hot rod rumble and you can still hear the radio. Not to **** anybody off, but the N11 off road original sound are obnoxious on the street. They belong on the track as their name implies.

Don't worry about adding side pipes ! There are many of em out there with it done (63 and 64's), and plenty that haven't been - so do what you like.
First thing I did to my mostly original 64 after purchasing it in 1999 was add factory style side-pipes It was a must have.
There are a few options today - those with chambered muffler tubes made exactly like the originals, or those made by companies like sweet thunder that have a larger inside diameter for better flow, but are also louder - the 3 inch ones are pretty darn loud. Many will say the factory style are too restrictive and rob horsepower, but unless you're at 400 or above, you won't lose anything. My car ran a best of 12.9 at 108 in the 1/4 mile with a 355hp engine - which basically means it wasn't down on power at all. Most of the factory style aluminum covers seem to be the same, and are made from the original GM tooling, although some may see differences in the fiberglass shield underneath.
If you want to add headers later for an even better sound, headman makes an excellent full length set that point right at the factory pipes. And congrats on finally getting a stingray!
