Default Why are C1 and C2 together on the forum??

I am newer to the forum(3 years). But i have to ask the question Why are C1 and C2 still grouped together. This day in age I can't come up with any reason why they are still grouped together. This might have been touched on in a previous post that I didn't read but I don't get it. Yes C2's were only around for 5 years but so what. Can anyone shed some light on this topic??

The traffic on the C1/C2 are fairly low compared to others There is prolly better answers but I think that sums it up

Some people OWN one of each and it makes it easier to NOT to jump around...

I mean this is not a huge deal but I was curious about it. I am sure the traffic is less on the C1/C2 but still feel that if they were separate it would be far more convenient.

I am sure that many member own a C2 and a C3 or a C4 but that would not be a good reason to group them together, no?

All years were rated and the first 14 years tied for first place so they were placed together on a forum.

Does that make sense tho? If they are the most popular shouldn't they be split up? is it maybe time to re-think this. The forum is pretty popular and it might be time to separate C1 and C2. I mean does anyone even care about this? I think it would make the forum much more convenient if i could search for only C1 or C2 and read about only C1 or C2.

This comes up about every 6 months. It never gets any traction. I used to wonder about it too but now take it in stride. Not that big a deal.

If you frame your search parameters well and take the thread titles to heart when doing casual reading then you should only have to deal with C1/C2 "cross pollination" occasionally.

I agree and I know that when i search for stuff how to frame it. But I am 33 years old and bought a C2 2 years ago and I am going to be using this site for many years to come. I think it might be time for this topic to gain some more traction. Or is it maybe time to start a C2 forum. I know there is lots of money involved in this site with adds and membership fees. I think its time for some updates. The site hasn't changed or become any better in the 3 years i've been a member. Is there a company who runs the site? I mean who do i talk to about this?

I imagine it's pretty much as Nowhere Man suggests. Other Corvette forums do the same thing. If we were to group by mechanical similarity, it seems that C2 and C2 might belong together.

They combined C1s and C2s so we wouldn't feel lonely in our small separate groups. Besides, after C2s, Corvettes stopped looking "classic."

From a tech standpoint there are a lot of people here that really know the small block Chevy's, fiberglass, etc., etc. If the forums were split a lot of questions asked here might go unanswered by people who know the right answer because they are hanging out on the other forum.

I am going to have to respectfully disagree with that. I feel that the people on this forum that have interest in helping people on topics such as small block Chevy's and fiberglass would take the few extra mins and check both the C1 and C2 section and for that matter the C3 section. I mean the C3 does have a small block Chevy and is also made of fiberglass but has it's own section.

I think the C1/C2 guys understand each other the best...
Personally, I am glad the C1 guys are here (I have a C2).

When I first got to the forum, I wondered about it also, now I am glad that they have done it this way.

Actually it comes up more often than that. A search will turn up several threads about it and all have been locked. If you want to make your feelings known, PM a moderator. It won't help, but neither will posting in public.
