Default Re-chrome of instrument cluster

Has anyone had an instrument cluster re-chromed? If so, what do you do to prep the painted to receive paint?
Thanks for the help,
Ray

Thanks,
I read the other tread and said thanks to the other guys, forgetting that I was on another tread. Dropped it off this morning at D&D Plating in Prov, RI. Found it on line with a lot of really good reviews. Told me $200 and I'd have it back in 2 weeks.

raylag64, When I did my '67 back in 2003 my cluster was fine however, my console needed chroming. When I got it back from the plater naturally the black needed to be done. I carefully taped it off and sanded the black areas with 600 wet/dry. Re-taped then sprayed two light coats of self etching primer. When that dried I applied two coats of Krylon semi flat black. As stated that was done in 2003 and it still looks great today.
Good Luck

Earl

Thanks Earl. Glad to know it lasts that long when done right.
