LOF Shaded Soft Ray Safety Plate windshield with a date code of VA would indicate original tinted glass with a manufactured date of December 1966.

It should be correct for a 1967 model year Corvette that was built between late December 1966 thru around June 1967.

When was your car built………or what is the VIN??

That works fine with the car's May production date; glass is one of the few exceptions to the NCRS 6-month rule - glass can be dated up to a year prior to the car's build date, as it was made in batches.

John:

I know the NCRS rules, but typically 1 to 6 months is the normal/typical for glass. However, twelve (12 )months will pass NCRS judging without a deduct……as you have stated.

Larry, John,
THanks for the info. The car is quite original, numbers matching, etc. I don't plan on getting it NCRS judged since I am putting a 5 speed, borgeson, a/c etc. I plan to drive it a lot, God willing. The glass has a small chip and I wanted to know if it was worth repair if it was original.
