Anybody know where this car is today? A Google of the VIN number yields some interesting legal decisions that involved this particular car. It is not in the C2 registry, so reaching out to see if anybody knows of the car today.
Thanks

I tried to read this legal doc and still can't tell you what it said. Lots of cars and trading going back and forth. Maybe one of our member lawyers could reduce this to a short cliff notes version for us!!!

A convertible VIN would start with "1946." Hopefully just a typo; otherwise you'll have to redo your online searches.

It is a COUPE, not a convertible
You are absolutely correct, but now I can't change the title. It is in fact a coupe with that VIN number.

Wonder if they would be interested in a 327-350HP engine with that VIN number that my friend owns??

The car for sale in the link is a convertible, but it has the same VIN as the coupe you're asking about; you know someone with the original 327/350, but there's a 427/435 with the same VIN in the car. Run Forrest, run! That's one fetching looking fake.

Actually, I had no idea if the car was a coupe or convertible, just had the VIN from the block.

In the pictures they didn't show the VIN under the glove box...
Hmmm...I wonder why...

I'm putting this in the "To Hard To Understands" pile. As I get older the pile gets bigger.

Got a picture of the engine stamp on the engine your friend has?
also while not a lawyer, I read the first few pages of the legal document and it looks like a financial dispute where the bank was advancing (floorplan) the builder (restorer- car dealer) and they were repossessing the collateral.

This is INTERESTING.
It took me only 5 minutes of research to make my mind up that the window sticker and build sheets are not authentic. There are several errors in the ECL codes, plus the dubious "0297" paint code for Ermine White.
I have never seen a counterfeit owner's card or kit.... wondering if the window sticker and build sheets were manufactured to complement the card and kit?
