1967 Corvette Distributor ?
I'm looking for what advise I can get in putting an HEI type distributor in my 1967 327/350 hp engine. Make, as well as price range & what plugs wires to use - 7mm or 8mm?

Tach drive HEIs are available, but they're not cheap. It won't fit under the shielding, if you're planning on using it. They're usually set up pretty conservatively, you'll need to recurve it for your engine.
You should contact Lars on this forum. He can tell you everything there is to know about setting up distributors.

Why not install a Mallory Unilite in the distributor? Inexpensive and very reliable. This coupled with Lars mapping of the dist, you will notice a difference. Dennis

I think there are a few people here on the C1/2 Forum who can tell you how their cars run after I've set up the distributor correctly with a good curve and some good parts. You should keep your stock unit and just set it up right.
If you really want to use an HEI because you like the way it looks, or for some other reason, I can give you some suggestions on parts, wires, and the process. But I really don't recommend it. Please don't...

I think it's safe to say if you run 10-14* initial advance with 24-26* centrifugal all in by 2800-3000 RPM and manifold vacuum advance 15*@ 12" (#1765) you car will be happy.
Also important is that the throttle blades are set correctly on the carburetor. Transfer slot just at the bottom of the primary throttle blade and the idle speed set by the secondary throttle blade stop screw. This will allow the idle fuel to be set by the emulsion screws and extend the transfer slot higher in the rpm range so no stumble.

Lars is absolutely correct. He set up two distributors for me several years ago and the results were amazing. His work is excellent and very fairly priced. You can't go wrong!

Hi, I am new here. Finally was able to get a project 67-427-390HP car. It came in parts and is missing the distributor. Any guidance where to get a correct one that can be set up with electronic and eliminate the points?

Take a look at progressionignition.com....got turned on to them by a gear head friend....I also have an L79 and considering just buying their replacement because of all the features they offer to adjust all parameters.
