Is a casting date January 6th 1963 motor correct for a January 18th assembled car, or is it to late of a casting date????

I don't think it's too late. My '63 has a casting date of May 6 and assembled May 15th.
What is your engine HP? If it's a 340 or FI the dates may be further apart from what I've read.

Its a 340. Just wasn't sure if only 12 days apart was to close. You mean your motor was assembled the 15th or your car? Im talking about the car assembly date (when the car was completed). Sorry if I wasn't clear.

Default Date

My original 340 has a May 2 casting date, a May 4 assembly date of motor and car was completed May 14, 1963.
