Default vin10002 cz 1960

I am now the owner of the infamous car, body is off and frame is 100002. Anyone with any real information as to the beginning of this car, 1959-70, please help! Aluminum heads are from Crower.
Also, painting a 1957 Arctic blue/Silver, what paint should I use, base coat, clear coat. Thx.

Not following you here. Crower, to the best of my knowledge, has never made aluminum heads.

Do you have or can you make a clear, hi-res photo of the engine pad?

I've previously seen that picture and I believe it could be of one of the counterfeit CZ blocks offered/sold in the late '70s/early '80s. It's not well lit and doesn't show much detail. I'm asking for a higher quality photo.

Hi Jim,

The original ebay seller of this car contacted me last year about my aluminum heads. I told him they were junk and could not be used but he begged me to sell them to him anyway, saying he had serial #2 1960 pilot line car and he wanted them for his CZ engine. He said he had an engine builder who was confident he could repair the heads and I told him again the heads were NOT repairable, I had them checked at a VERY competent race engine shop with state of art equipment. He said he had to have the heads..........................so I sold (practically gave) them to him. Six months later his car showed up on ebay with the heads listed as part of the package but he never provided pics of the heads. These are the heads that are with the car. I cannot account for the crower stamping on the heads, they were like this when I bought them many years ago.

Ah ha! Thanks for the clarification and the back story, Rex. Now that I see the pictures of the heads, I remember them from one of the other, recent threads about the CZ engines of myth and lore.

BTW, we've got some of your weather here today. Believe it or not it's actually snowing in the Sierra ..... first time since early December, I believe.

Jim
