Three inches wouldn't look era correct on a C1 to me...

That is very wide ...3 inches would be more at home on older larger cars like a Duesenberg or something similar imho.

I think you're right.
I'm going to call DB tomorrow. I want to see what choices of brands there are. I believe it's Cooper and Michelin. Both are well made tires.

I take it that the call to Diamond back influenced your decision?

I also made that call once upon a time. I bought Michelin 215-70 15's with 2.5" white sidewalls based on that conversation. I just looked up the ticket to be sure about the width..

Just curious

My mistake.
I meant 2 1/2".
I considered the 3" but I know I like the 2 1/2" and I thought that getting the 3" and not liking them would be far riskier and permanent choice.
(BTW, beautiful car and I think you made the right choice with the 2 1/2".)

They also have an option for what they call beauty rings. They apparently are a ridge that sticks out where the WW meets the black wall. It gives depth to it.
I was curious but not $20 per tire's worth.

I can relate...1/2" makes a lot of difference on wide white walls...even a 1/4" can sometimes.

Bill (I think was his name)at Diamondback was really helpful....and extra careful to help me get the look I wanted. Nice guys all around.

I thought about the beauty rings(?) too, but decided against them. I saw a set at a car show later on which looked nice...but just didn't quite fit the "Corvette personality" to me, so I was really glad I didn't get them.

I like Toyo tires. I have run them before on my cars, and currently have a new set on my 40' diesel motorhome. Good choice imho...

Stan..

I changed my order to 205-75-15 . Will suit the std. Wheel better plus it has a smaller overall diameter which will suit me better since I've lowered the front by about 1 1/2". On full steering lock I would'nt have had much clearance with the taller 215/75/15. Can't wait to get them next week and get them on the car.

I agree...205-75's will be better for a stock wheel and chassis.

My wheels are custom built a little wider and with a deeper offset for a C4 Corvette Correction chassis, so I was able to use a slightly wider (215 /70-15) tire.
