Timing problem on a 63 corvette
Can anyone possibly send me a pic showing the timing mark for a 63 corvette and WHERE 10 degrees BTDC would be on it? Thanks for any help possible...

The timing mark on the harmonic balancer will be inline with the keyway on the crankshaft. Or another way - the timing mark on the balancer will be aligned with one of the three 3/8" bolts (9/16 heads) holding the pulley to the balancer.
After about 1968, the timing mark on later balancers was relocated 10 degrees counter-clockwise.

I have a 250hp but if you stand at the driver's side at the front of the fender and look down to the balancer the timing tab is just to its right in a fixed position; prob covered with goo. Don't let the letter "A" on the tab confuse you as it does NOT mean After Top Dead Center; it means Advance. So the timing marks each indicated 2* of advancing timing as they go towards the passenger side of the car...
A little white paint on the harmonic balancer timing groove and some more on the fixed tab where your timing should be set will make seeing them very easy.

I've found the white liquid paper is great for marking as Frankie suggest. Cheap, comes with a neat little brush and is a small package. I guess with all the word processors the liquid paper business is pretty slow, but you can still find it
