Default Anyone use unusual or cool radiator hose clamps?

Anyone use unusual or cool radiator hose clamps?

I am looking for something different...the clamps I've been getting lately just strip too easy, and I'm tired of messing with them.....and I want something sorta nice for my restomod.

I've looked at the t-bolt clamps...but they look awkward (or something) to me?

Suggestions anyone..?

Thanks...Stan

Thanks Jack...fitment is "very" critical on those, but they do look good.

Thanks Reidster...I had seen those...Might be sorta hard to install on the bottom...but they seem to work in all the conversations I've Googled on them.. I would never have thought a heat shrink clamp would work well at all....shows what I know!

Anyone else...

Thanks...Stan

I still think that the old Corbin clamps look good.

The hot rod guys have been using them for a while and they don't seem to be having any problems with them.
You can't really get a cleaner slicker look.

Hello Stan,

I am not sure if this is the t-bolt clamp you are referring to or not. But this is what I like to use. They work great. They hold torque and hold it very evenly. The best part, they don't strip that darn worm, don't dig into the hose, and there is no tail hanging that acts like a razor blade to cut you up when your in there cleaning or working.

Regards,
Brian

Try aircraft spruce. They carry many option of aviation type hose clams. Some rubber lined like an adel clamp, others with bolt drive etc.

Brian...thanks.
I bought set of these.

Besides the part that sticks out before tightening...the threaded bolt protrudes toward you another inch plus. Not very dressy...but there no way around it.

From a practical standpoint they work really well (unless you have limited room).

Reidster..thanks.
The Gates heat shrink is a good idea on the top side...but hard to get a heat gun on the bottom hoses.. They are very neat and I am considering them...but would really prefer a little more contrast in that area.

Ghostrider...Thanks.

I had heard of aircraft spruce, and that they have a lot of "good" stuff...and forgotten about it.
I'm going to look there right now....

I'm still looking guys..I'm going to take a closer look at stainless lined worm gear clamps. I've heard they are are better quality than the standard worm gear clamp.

Thanks..Stan

Well aircraft spruce had some interesting stuff...but no clamps that were big enough for a radiator hose...other than the norm.

Anyone else seen anything unusual...or high quality?

Thanks...Stan

Stan, I worked in Aviation a few years and used these clamps on low pressure hoses. The through bolt can be cut and dressed up and the clamp itself can be safety wired in a way where it's hidden, somewhat. I know this is old post and you probably have figured it out by now.

Thanks Dale...

I used some of those clamps on the lower radiator hoses...but decided on these (see link) for the locations that are highly visible. (...notice the reviews too...)

https://www.pegasusautoracing.com/pr...p?Product=3613

They are very trim, slightly narrower than standard radiator hose clamps, and very good quality. I decided to use two side by side where I need them.

They are easy to polish too, five minutes on the wheel with a little compound does a couple of them...which is a plus for me. You can get the exact size size you need...which eliminates an excessive tail.

Stan...
