Replacing Lower Ball Joint Help 67 coupe
Hey Guys have read all the archives about the R and R of the passenger side lower ball joint. Have a 4 post lift, so no problem getting to it. Tried breaking the ball joint loose without a pickle fork. No such luck. Any special size pickle fork needed, or am I just missing a trick to breaking it loose?

There are two basic 'pickle' forks, one is for tie rods and the other is for ball joints.
There is a third but it is for large Ford trucks.
KD tool part number is 2287 for the ball joint and 2288 for the tie rod tool.

Bashful
You really can't be bashful in hitting the fork. I use a pair of vice grips to hold the fork. It sure beats hitting your hand with the hammer and spending a few hours in the ER. I have had some break in a few swings and others make my arms weary from swinging the hammer. Good luck. Jerry

Melting Slicks
[QUOTE=BD104X;1589437094]Usually a couple of good shots with a BFH on the spindle where the ball joint attaches does the trick.
works for me every time, plus leaves the boot intact.

Be sure the bolt is still on loosely when you smack it. I know you knew that.
