The US Space and Rocket Center is in Huntsville. It is a "must see" if you are in the area. One of three surviving, Saturn V rockets like which powered the Apollo moon shots is there.

Hello Jim,
I live 2 miles from JSC in Houston and we have one of the Saturn V rockets here and you are correct in that it is amazing. All of the space history that we have here is very interesting as well the other centers around the country.

The numbers those Saturn V rockets made just boggle the mind (well, mine, anyway).

In full song, for example, the 1st stage engines produced more power than Hoover Dam and made seven million pounds of thrust.

I'm not convinced that they actually lifted off earth so much as they simply pushed the earth out of the way.

Jay, Are you moving there? I will share that I have met some of the nicest people in Huntsville/ Athens area. There is a fairly active group of Corvette enthusists there. I understand Athens has quite a car show in the town square. Property is pretty reasonably priced. It is considered to be in Tornado Alley.

Hi;

Ed McComas here.

I live in the Huntsville, AL area. Been here since 1990. Absolutely love it.

What questions do you have?

My email address is emccomas57@gmail.com if that helps.

Hello 65,

I am currently looking at property in that area for a possible move there in the future. I agree there seems to be a great group of Corvette enthusiast there and you can tell by the responses to my thread and the PM's that I have received that they are very willing to help. As you have mentioned I thought that it might be in Tornado alley. I will have to consider that before I make a final decision.

Thanks for you feedback.
