yes and been a member since 1960. don yenko was a member of CCWP back then. don was driving a 57 FI that day. CCWP members also pitted the gulf research race corvettes as grady davis was also a member. one guy at that dirt track event was ross harris who was driving a big tank 63 ZO-6. we ran auto cross, hill climbs and track days every weekend back then

I grew up in Western PA and dad would take us out to watch those events. Always a blast to see the Corvette guys and all the amazing cars. Early 60's on and itching to own one myself, and have had quite a few over the years thanks to you guys igniting that same passion in then eager teen. Currently have a 65 FI coupe and I drive it, no trailer queen (though I keep it as clean as one with lots of effort). Good times!

You guys that bought midyears that came out of SW Pa and spent $100,000 having them rebuilt better check your car over. I can see bent frames, body panel replacements and fiberglass cracks forming just after your new paint job cures.
That dirt will eat up original engines so you probably also have a restamp in your plug.

we ran dirt track events every year and the mrs spun out and backed our brand new 62 into the fence at the old Latrobe speedway at one of these events. one time I put contact paper on so the stones would not ding the paint but when taking off the contact paper it took off the paint. so much for brite ideas.

Dick Swartzlander lived about 5 mi from me. My car was the 66 in my avatar. It came out of Gulf Research, one of the higher ups bought it brand new as a BB car then blew the engine on the dyno. From there it became a race car. The owner before me put the flares on it. It was also a big tank car.
