2015 Good Guys Muscle Machine of the Year Finalist
At the risk of sounding like I'm tooting my own horn, I just wanted to let everyone know that my '66 was chosen for the 2015 Good Guys Muscle Machine of the Year Finalist award at the Good Guys event in Raleigh, NC this past weekend. It came as a complete surprise, as my buds, Scott, Rick, and I attended hoping to get some good autocrossing in.
Now we'll be traveling to Scottsdale, Az in November to compete against 6 other finalists for the top honor.

"Congrats! beautiful car....can you elaborate a little on the set-up...if you don't mind."
Thanks
Well, it's a 427 big block, AFR heads with 3x2 Demon carbs and a TKO 600 and a 3.90 rear ratio.
It has semi coil overs in the front and QA1's in the rear.
Stock brakes except for a hydroboost and Borgeson power steering.
Pretty basic.
Thanks

Congratulation, that is an honor. I really like your car 'cause it's got attitude just sitting there. Just the right angle, wheels, tires and those tasteful rear flares. Dennis

Huge Congrat's Bill.
Car is a beauty....Can you show anymore pictures of you Engine compartment and Interior. I think we'd all love to see more.
BTW-Were you just at a show and they picked you or did you have to submit pictures of something to enter a contest?
Nice going,
RK

I like the fact that they picked a road warrior like mine instead of one of the many beautiful show cars that were attending.
The downside was that I couldn't figure out how to get around the course without taking out a bunch of cones.
I'll get a few more pictures up in a couple days.

You have a great looking C2. Your are in some very exclusive company. Think about how many Goodguys Events there are. Then how many cars attend those events. You are 1 of 7. That is a major honor in itself. Good luck in the finals.

Actually, I was just autocrossing and a guy from Good Guys stopped by and told me the '66 had been chosen. Wow, talk about shocked and proud.

I was just way off on saturday, finishing 7th in the 'Street Machine' class, but late models were allowed this time for some reason. Normally, 'Street Machine' is for '72 and older and the late models run in the
All American Sunday class. Take the late models out, and I'm 3rd.(but still slow)
But it was still fun.
