Radio dial needle - how to repaint?
The orange radio dial indicator on my '57 is faded, more so than the needles on my dash cluster.
I suspect that the radio unit itself was replaced at some point and the donor car lived in a place with brighter sunshine, which faded the radio dial indicator.
So, my question is: what's involved in disassembling the radio to repaint the dial indicator? How complicated would this be? The radio works quite fine so I don't need to rebuild it. I'd just like to repaint the indicator so it matches the more saturated orange color of the needles on the dash cluster.
Last question: what sort of paint should I use? Is this the same "Chevy Orange" that is used on engines of the period?
It is
