Default Oil Filter cannister filter decal alternative?

For a 66 using the PF 141 cannister oil filter

I have tried the decals but these fail quickly due to engine heat.

Has anyone made a paint stencil or mask to apply the white lettering?

There must be one Forum member with graphics experience that can produce such a stencil.

Would love to hear from anyone with a solution other other than sending it out to be silk screened.

This is not rocket science.

Possibly use satin clear coat lightly over the decal ?
I've done that on valve cover decals before and it worked...

Thanks Frankie. It was nice to meet you in the hanger see you at NCRS Fl meet in January.

Those decals never look good.

I really would like to use a stencil or mask to apply white paint as I feel this is the only permanent solution.

I would find an oil can restorer and pay to get the work done. There are two or three that I know.

I personally used Ken Hansen of OrinDales…..but there are others.

Send it to Ken Hansen at Orindale's - he's the "guru" for absolutely correct stenciled original filter canisters. Nothing else you'll try will work out long-term.

Ken did the oil can silk screening on my 63 motor and it's very nice. He also makes sure all surfaces are flat so no leaks. I installed a decal on my 67 can and when it goes south the can will go to Ken to get fixed correctly.

Rick:

A few years back, complete restoration with silk screen was just under $100. Not certain about today……….
