I LOVE my hardtop.
No flapping, and excellent vision.
With the cowl vent full open, and both windows down, there is no buffeting of the driver, even at over 100 MPH. Perfect for warm weather travel.

Picked it up in Pennsylvania earlier this week and mounted it yesterday. I really like the look.

Don't know which thread to ask this question...I just bought a 61 corvette and changed the oil for first time. Owners manual says it takes six quarts with new filter. However when I hut in 5 quarts it shows over full. Should I put in other quart?

Thank you, and I couldn't believe my good fortune in finding a Fawn Beige top in such great shape. I expected to have to buy a pretty crispy one in any color and redo it myself. The kicker is that the date coding on the windows is correct for my car! When you're hot, you're hot. Have to go buy some lotto tickets now.

Yup, you have one fine looking automobile there, but then again, I MAY be biased! Is your softop white, beige, or black?
old pic, and the hardtop's been in the basement for about 18 years now, but yes, I love the look as well, it's just that since I got my softop mounted I love going topless most of the season.......
BTW.....classiest colour on a C1 EVER!

Everyone is giddy when they first find a nice hardtop; got mine for the '61 and had it on and off 4-5 times the first year; 2-3 times the second year; 1 time in the last two years. Now it stays covered up on a rack.
I live in a warm climate, but putting the top on/off is a pain and yes its quieter and looks different but the novelty will wear off. Really, why do you own a roadster in the first place ?
Topless driving IMO. Of course, if you've added A/C, or live in cooler climes, or, don't mind the installation hassle you might use it more.

Frankie - I sill have the C6 convertible for the "top down" days . . .. . and they both stay stored for the 7-month winter up here in snowy Central New York anyway. with only about five months per year of actual Corvette Weather, I think I'll get enough use out of the '62, hardtop or no. And as everyone says, I can always take it off. I do like the looks of the car with it on, though. I didn't find the installation particularly difficult - my youngest son and I had it on and secured in about 15 minutes. Everything lined up perfectly, all the correct hardware was on the top and in excellent shape, and I had ordered & received the necessary fasteners ahead of time.
and Kerrmudgeon, the soft top on mine is black.
Thank you, everyone for the kind comments. Took a Best in Show with it last Sunday at a local show - the Fawn Beige is also always the Ladies Choice. Mine, too.

Nothing nicer than a Fawn/Fawn 62 with a hard top. What color is the soft top?

Your car looks great with the hard top on It transforms the look of the car. I put mine on the 61 every fall and take it off in the Spring. I just have to remember to duck when I go over bumps when the hard top is on.
