Default Wire question maybe someone can answer.

1966 non air roadster.
The single brown wire in the pic that is labled AC/heater Sw. and has question marks with it.
Can anyone say with any certainty what it is for and where this one actually plugs onto??
It is the only unaccounted for wire / plug I have found in the dash and it is driving me crazy.

That is a error in that diagram. That wire is the ACC wire only to connect to a Radio Suppression capacitor mounted behind the Instrument Cluster.

If you have no radio or the capacitor is missing, tape the end and simply tape it up out of the way.

Thanks for that info. I have a capacitor on the ignition coil that I thought was used to supress radio interference??

There are several. The Brown ACC wire in question, the Park Brake switch, Ammeter, Blower Motor, Voltage Regulator, Flashers, Coil+, etc. They're all shown in the AIM under Sheet UPC U69 Radio Option. I recall it shows that Brown wire also.

They're only for AM noise suppression.

Aha! Thanks.
Other answers to this question say this wire is specifically supposed to be connected to a capacitor that is mounted on the ign switch behind the cluster? There is no capacitor present at this location in my car. Maybe it was removed by someone years ago as uneeded?
If anyone has a picture of how this is mounted and connected it would be great to see it.

See your '66 Assembly Manual, section U69, sheet A5, item #5.
