Default Wanna guess where my brake fluid went?

Week before last I fired up the '65 to give my visiting Mother-out-law (it's a long story) a ride; however, this was stymied when the brake pedal went all the way to the floor.

Popped the master cylinder cap to find a bone-dry reservior. I did not get to find the source of the apparent leak, as I got called out of country on short notice. I just got back this weekend.

Tomorrow I will put her up on jack stands and try to locate the problem. Anybody want to guess where the leak is?

Join the cast of thousands with Corvette four piston brake calipers.

Most likely at the caliper piston. Worst case is rusted through brake line between frame and body.

I'm sure one or all four inside of your wheels are all wet

Look at the inside of your tires.

Do you mean the inboard sides of his wheels?

Hope you meant, 'backside' of the tires, otherwise, one will/would wonder how brake fluid got "inside' and not get a flat tire...

None of your guesses so far are making me feel any better so far

I suppose that the worst would be a hard line requiring body removal to replace.

You dodged a real bullet. Just be glad it happened in an unspectacular way. You'll find it.

I suspect that it's under your driver's side floor mat. Don't let it go too long or it will wick up into your seat belts.

On one of my cars I found that the brake line had pin holes from rust. The fluid was absorbed by the frame rail.

How will jacking up the mother-in-law help to find the problem?

My M-O-L accused me of trying to kill her.

That's two votes for under the seat.

Mark, I have actually been out of town for most of the shows, but I'm hoping to get it fixed by this weekend's cruise in. Gotta show off my new wheels.

the m-o-l exceeds the capacity of my jack anyway.

Sounds like I could be headed that way.

I probably won't dismount the tires from the wheels.

Guess I need to head out to the garage, and get started.
