I was with Brian Futo in 2001 at the NCRS National in Bowling Green. He said he was going to put me on test to see if I could spot fake fuel cars (suspicious would be a better word) with their hood closed. I passed the test. The way the emblems are installed is a major factor. Do your homework.

Not an easy task. Jay here is one hint. The emblems are not parallel to the ground. As far as placement I cannot help you.
