Default 1963 Restomod Center Console

I am considering center console ideas for the 63. I would like to incorporate drink holders and some storage. Any photos or drawings of such?

Its over-priced but the aftermarket center console from the vendors is what I went with. Single cup holder and storage under the lid. Also snatches out in 2 seconds if needed. I quit using that clear plastic do-dad the vendors sell that holds two cups. Nasty looking and can scratch the original console.

Frankie, That is a big improvement. I was looking for something more sculpted.

I looked for options quite a bit and there was nothing sexy out there. So I just bit the bullet and went for what you see above. Good luck with it!

Here is what I am using in my C2 - has two cup holders, storage, and installs and removes in seconds.

I looked at that two cup center console - only comes in black IIRC.

What is the source for the two cup holder? I am redoing my 63's interior and that looks like it would work.

Volunteer Vettes used to have them but it looks like they are out of stock now - not cheap...

I'm pretty sure it's the same one I used, I got mine from Corvette Central, but I'm sure you can get from other vendors.

$300 seems like a lot, but it's a nicely made piece, and it saved me a tone of time as opposed to making my own.
I found that after installing the console the reach to the Tremec shifter was a little awkward, so I spoke with Silver Sport and got their shifter handle from an early C3 (2" taller than their C2 shifter). That made a huge difference, and greatly improved the 2-3 shift.

Good luck,
Rick

Yeah that's the eye-watering price I remember - and only in black...

Seats are pro rally from scat in leather.

As for the center console. - the top piece comes from a Volvo and then mated to a custom box. I have seen others reupholster to suit other interior colors.

Good luck !!!

FtF do you have the long version of the console or the shorter one? Do you know if it really makes any difference?

I must have the long one - if it were any longer it would impede shifting gears....
Its OK, but expensive, its also a really workable arm rest too....
