Selling my Vette is $46k to much
Need opinion on my baby, is $46k to much ? Time for a new project.
I have listed her in the for sale section but no interest. I don't want to list her on ebay but I may have to. Thoughts ?

Well... It took me probably a year to sell mine and I never did get what I thought it was worth. It's hard to tell from the pictures but 46 seems a little on the high side for a NOM 65 that was restored in the 80's. I don't think you can't get it, I just don't think it's going to be a quick sale. I looked at Ebay and there weren't any red 65 Vette Convertibles listed any cheaper..
This one supposedly sold for 48,500

the first one never got feedback left for the sale so you don't know if it was shilled up that high, buyer backed out or ??... well I take that all back.... It's back up for sale so it was probably bs....

First and 3rd are same car and its been on Ebay for a long time. No title, just bill of sale may be scaring people off. Some states make you jump hoops to get a title other states no problem.

Let me make sure I understand - you put up 3 pictures of a convertible w/o any details and you're going to base your evaluation on the responses that you receive? Anybody who does respond is giving a WAG, wild-assed-guess.

I put my 67 NOM, convertible on craigslist for $47,500 to see what interest would be out there...got two calls. No offers...I don't think the market is as strong as some on this forum (me included) would like it to be...plenty of NOM cars available.
Definitely a longterm effort to sell one of these cars.
Cheers,
Frank

I think that all but the most underpriced and most desirable cars take a long time to sell, as there are not many buyers in the market for these cars, and it is a luxury item.
I would consider doing a more over-the-top marketing campaign, not glitzy or goofy, but something to set your car apart, for example tons of high-quality pictures, including the underside, showing lots of details to show that it is not just one that looks good on the surface.
An older restoration is not bad if you can show that it has been taken care of since then. Better than a basket case.

Maybe the NOM scares off some Corvette enthusiasts, and that alone might make it lower 40's; but, for the first time buyer, the appearance alone might support mid 40's. Upper 40's does seem a tad high.

This forum is moving from a resto/tech focus to a valuation focus.
No one is doing the appropriate homework though. There's not a single mention of Hagerty or the recent Corvette magazine article. Come on guys - this isn't all that hard.
At least the guys over on the Porsche forums keep track of the auction results.

The colors are desirable so that is a big plus.
In my experience there are 2 buyers out there. One that wants a nice car for a great price and doesn't care about perfectly original and is flexible on colors.
The other wants what they want. Original, colors, everything.
You might get one of the guys that wants original but gives up to get the colors in your case.
I got rid of mine and everyone was calling me crazy. But every single one of those guys wouldn't put the money up themselves for the car.
Another thing to note is people seem to LOVE to lowball. I was asking 47500 for my 66 (thinking it was worth right around that, and I'd probably sell for 45k). Got lowballs around 32k a few times. I raised the price to 57500 and started getting lowballs in the high 30's to low 40's.
