1967 427 garage find
so. there was an old tractor and hit n miss engines yard sale this last Friday, I was looking for an anvil for sheet metal work I got talking with an older gentleman "BOB" and he started showing me some pictures of old 1800's water wheels he had just purchased from an nice lady north of San Francisco area. she was selling her late husbands collection. so in one picture there was a covered car with the nose of a corvette sticking out so I asked him about the car he says she has a few cars and wants to sell them all a... long story short, she only sold 3 of 4 cars one was a 40 ford coupe. a model A and a 67 427 corvette convertible guess what one I wanted the most. so now I have a project I will drop the gas tank with hopes of finding the data sheet. it has a 454 in it and what I believe to be the original 4 speed Muncie. but yet to be confirmed. it has been sitting in the driveway since 1987 when driven 10 years after being purchased form the original owner in 1977. without the original engine. shucks!!.

Welcome to the Corvette Forum. I grew up in San Francisco and lived in Sonoma County for 36 years and unfortunately, never ran across any barn or garage finds like the ones that have been surfacing lately.
I suppose that first pic must be in your garage since there's a solid axle Vette off to the right/rear in the pic. Besides the 454, what else have you uncovered so far? What's the tach redline?

no other info or parts I was hoping it would have some paperwork. I don't think she would know where it is. but it was built in st Louis and was purchased in NEW YORK. form what the lady tells me.

You've seen the 'S' designation on the Trim Tag and that's how you know it's a St Louis car? Do you have this roadster in your possession? If so, you do know about '67's having had a tank sticker, right? Of course, with all the years that have passed since 1967, the tank sticker, if it's still there at all, could be badly deteriorated. Only one way to tell...

Good work getting the tank down and lucky to see the L71 code was still readable. I didn't notice a front license plate, was there a Black/Yellow California license plate on the back? Any other options on this roadster?
I was thinking your roadster was Marina Blue over Bright Blue but after seeing the 418 Trim Code for Dark Teal Blue interior, I'm guessing the paint code is #977 for Lynndale Blue?

This is a way cool thread. I think we will see more of these 'barn finds' or 'garage finds' as time goes on.....mainly due to the passing of the original or second owners. My own '61 sat for about 25 years in an airplane hanger in the Oroville area, where the aging owner dreamt of cloning it into a fuelie car to replicate the one he had in 1961 that he bought new. Years passed, the car gathered dust in a corner, and eventually, the owner died and his family had to clear out the clutter. Lots of 'day two' owners are now in their sunset years, and are either realizing that they'll never get around to restore the car, or, much more commonly, pass away with all of their toys, leaving disinterested family members to liquidate them. Either way, the cars get found, patched up, and put back on the road for everybody to see and enjoy. Again, what a heck of a find!

Frame is nice n solid. someone did a very nice flare job but then they still altered the original which is not nice... lol. I'm ok with it since it'll fit bigger nicer wheels if needs. for rally or road racing.

I would like to leave it, clean it up, and drive as is with all the miles on it... ohh one thing the car shows 00002 miles on it, I think owner hit 100,000 miles then parked it since 87. even though they non opted it for 5 years as the blue plates show 92 tags.

spare tire
Here is the original rally rim and firestone with no wear what so ever. even has nubs on the tread.. and the DC code wheel. I pulled it out before dropping the tank it was locked in the spare tire tray.
