I have no idea if the assembly plant stocked two different dash panels. One for radio and one without. Could have.
There was also a dealer radio kit that could be installed over the counter. It included a radio, ignition shielding, capacitors, ground straps, antenna/coax and pwr antenna switch in the case of '65-'66. The kit also included a template to cut the hole in the dash for the radio, a hole to locate the antenna and a bright metal bezel to surround the radio in the dash cutout.

It's the rarest color, fuelie, paperwork, etc. It's not stopping at 109K I guarantee it. Purists know it as heater delete (as heaters came as standard equipment) and not ordered with radio (radios were NOT standard equipment). Regardless, that car is a RARE bird if it's real. ARA
Ahh, the caveat.
Recognize that this is Corvette Mike, and many of us (myself included) have had less than stellar dealings with him. This has been well documented in the Corvette Forum over the years in past threads.

Hence my assertion at the end of my post " Regardless, that car is a RARE bird if it's real. ARA"

You had to ''ORDER'' U69 the option for AM/FM Radio to get one. NO OPTION ordered,......no radio delivered. 22113 radios were ordered in 1965. Cost $203.40. And yes, radio shielding underhood came ONLY with radio cars. 23564 cars were built per the Blackbook. So 1451 cars did not have radios.
Now if we want to pick more pepper out of the fly s@#%, two additional cars were built per vin numbers issued.
I know this car well. It has great paper work from the selling dealer.

This Corvette Mike gets ridiculous money for his cars. I dont know how he does it. He does sometimes have some dandys ( like this one ) and the bids so far on this are pretty high, but the reserve im sure is just silly. Ill watch it for fun.

I can't find any mention of NCRS or BG awards. I would assume the paperwork would increase the price even more.
Are the prices moving back up? Finally.

My no-radio '64 Shriner convertible was one of only about twelve with a COPO ignition shielding install, which JohnZ confirmed as needed because the Shriners used two-way radios for their close-order football halftime drills.
I think the uncut dash looks racy, but that and the COPO don't make my car especially valuable at all.

In my experience, Mike gives full access to inspect the cars that he sells. He gets top dollar for cars that are not garden variety. He does not serve the bottom feeders. If there is a certain corvette you are looking for and he has it, you can inspect to your satisfaction, and then buy with confidence IF you have the budget for it. It's the American way, right?
I have not looked but I would guess this L84 is listed on his site around 150. That is probably where his reserve is, and around what it will take to buy it. If you are a player, come and get it....

He did partial restoration on a 1st day, 1 owner, convertible, '70, 350/350 I bought from him.
He low balled the owner (I later met her) for $4,200 and I paid $8,900 with the understanding that they do the restoration.
Before I bought the car (he had less than a week), he took off and sold the donneybrook green hard top (date coded glass) to someone else.
He changed the aftermarket radio and put in the wrong one (white face) and he certainly knows better.
He did not return requested parts.
They did not change the foams when doing the seat (rotted right out and split the seat seams)...

$9000 for a one owner 1970 L46 convertible?
When was this, 1990?
Not sure if your experience in this transaction has any applicability to the sale at issue in this thread. This black fuelie seems to be fully described. The previous owner apparently now has a Z06 tanker in his garage. I'm guessing he is pretty happy. The new owner of this rare bird fuelie will probably be happy with his purchase. I know I would be, if I had the money to step up for this. I don't, so it is all academic anyway...
