How does this 65 big block engine bay look?
How does this 65 big block engine bay look in terms of correct parts and/or originality? It is a no AC/PB or PS car. The brake fluid resevoir caught my eye. I'm not sure if that is correct or not.

Looks just like the one I just removed from my non PB 65.It's just unpainted and rusty. Should be semi flat black I believe. The cylinder and cap. Also looks like a fitting or port of some sort above the line that mine didn't have. 65&66 used the same non PB cylinder I'm pretty sure. Just don't recognize that plug unless its just the way it shows in the pic.

Thanks for the follow up. I'm trying to figure out if this is a real BB car. It is pretty far from me so I won't be able to inspect in person. I'm calling on it tomorrow. They say they have the protecto plate.

The Master Cyl won't tell you if it was a BB or not. That was the same on SB and BB cars. Lots of other signs to confirm if a real 396 car or not. Better let some of the BB experts advise you on this one as to what to look for.

There were less than 2,200 of these made, the 396 car is truly a rare car among Corvettes and therefore expensive. All the more reason for thorough due-diligence.
Locate the nearest Corvette expert, whether he be an NCRS member/owner, judge, or a restoration shop owner and gladly pay him to evaluate the car. This is in addition to and not instead of a personal inspection.
Good 396 cars are $75,000 to $100,000++. At that rate you should inspect what you expect. It's one thing to have the genuine article and another to have a car in good shape, structurally, mechanically and cosmetically. Only your eyes can be the judge if its worth the money. The best way to be disappointed with a classic car purchase is to fail to go look at it.
Ps. If it's a dealer's car bring a forensics specialist and some degreaser.
