what is this car worth part 66
I found a 66 convertible that I am thinking about buying. Soft top only, red on black leather. Aftermarket side pipes, 17 inch Cragar SS wheels, a 67 big block hood with red stinger, and a new or fresh 502 big block. 4 speed car. no flared fenders. It looks pretty nice. it has an 80 pound oil gauge, so I suspect it might be a real big block car. The trim tag and VIN tag look good. Trim is 414 Paint is 976.
I will post pictures when I get home from work. Who has an opinion on what this thing is worth?

The value in that car is the 502. That it might have been a BB car originally is a moot point now. Less than $40,000. Without the 502, less than $35,000.

The car is currently a Red Car with Black interior?..... Did I read that right? It has a Red Stripe on the 67 Hood... I must be confused. Red Car/Red stripe
The Trim Tag denotes Nassau Blue on Bright Blue... no?
Since its a NOM (albeit a BB) and it has the potential to be an originally BB car....
Hmmmm....
The purist won't be interested because of the NOM and the NOC (Non Original Color) unless its at a price point so low that they could buy and flip.
The market would be for folks that "just want a reasonable priced Corvette" or "I want to get into a BB Vette at the lowest price point possible and don't car if its #Matching"
But once the price starts dipping into what a #match small block go for, the pool of potential buyers starts to fade
If it had BB providence (and maybe some doc) and was painted the correct color (Nassau) and had the correct interior (Bright Blue), and a correct 66 BB Hood, I'd think that this would probably have a upper 50s ask, and $46-$520K selling point.
Those figures are probably pretty close to what a Condition #3+ #match SB 66 vert would go for...
Since its a repaint and NOM car (with fresh BB), I think the Corvette Congregation here would be looking to get it as cheap as possible, with the ceiling around $42-ish. But that is the trick... the guys here are bargain hunters and know that if they sit on their $45K long enough, the right car will come along. If you can get it for under $35, I think its a no brainier fun car.

Sounds like it's getting into "Frankenvette" territory. Usually these cars are on Craigslist for about 40% more than if pay for them. As Greg says we are always shopping for a deal around here. That said I wouldn't let a few $1,000 keep from a car that made me really happy.
With NO photos I'd say hovering around $40k, much better just a little on the shy side.
I'm betting that this car has a big number on it.

I have heard that, It's worth what someone is willing to pay.
From the two pictures, looks pretty nice. Although prices get thrown around, what people ask, what actually sells, and what sits around forever trying to be sold is just to hard to keep up with.

I would like to know where you could get one cheaper.
I only post cars i find that are under $50K... unless someone is looking for something specific like a SWC.

Nice looking car if you can get it for 45k. NOM SB cars are going low 40s. It has nice looking paint and the 502 but I hate the side pipes. I still have burn marks from the ones I had like that. If you can find that car for 40k and pass on it I will buy it.

For a neat car to raise hell in the only thing wrong with it is its not a coupe. I think youd be better off looking for a private party. Dealers are usually a little optimistic on their prices. Like the one guy said though.... Any midyear thats runs drives and is solid is over 40 now for the most part.

Listed for 50K?, with a solid inspection, and a rigorous going over, including a lengthy test drive, from here it looks like a nice car for $45K.
Why have you cooled off on it, OP? Was there something wrong with it?
I'm actually liking the tidy look of it.

One important thing to consider is how solid the bodywork is: if hit, how well was it fixed, etc. A potentially huge money pit.

I would have been more serious if it was undervalued and I could turn a $ on it. Drive it for 6 months and say bye.
