2 Bar KO's/spinner 1962/63
Is there anyway to tell if your buying an original set of 2 bar KO's. I've seen them on reverse sides with stampings of right and left and the numbers 3&5. Is there part numbers on them? I also heard that the caps on the originals where part of the spinner not a loose cap is this right. Thanks, Mike

2 Bar KO
They where made in 1962/63 by Dayton in the early 60's for a select few corvettes. I don't believe Kelsey - Hayes made them. Not a aftermarket or reproduction. Thanks

I THINK the spinners had inserts. I THINK '62-'63 inserts had black letters, '64 spinners had silver. I think. Can't remember.
The spinners were made by Dayton for Corvair wire wheels, not Corvette.
I heard somebody in Ohio made a bunch of repop spinners some years back.
Clark's Corvair Parts are selling look alike Corvair repop wire wheels with the spinners.

Perhaps I should have added some clarification to JohnZ's picture above. It is a picture of a 2 bar KO WHEEL! Anyone can put a 2 bar spinner on a KO wheel, but a 2 bar WHEEL is completely different (different GEAR DRIVE adapter as well as wheel) than the 3 ear KO wheel which is pin drive.

The wheel pictured is by Kelsey-Hayes, an infringement on a Dayton wheel gear-drive patent, the settlement of which also involved the Production of Dayton wire wheels for the Corvair. Ingenious vendors have since marketed the 2-bar Corvair knockoff as Corvette pieces.
