Default What's the catch 1967 BB $34k

http://classiccars.com/listings/view...lifornia-92869

A friend of mine found this online and I'm sure this has to be a scam right? I told him to stay away and thought someone on here could ease his mind because he thinks he found the steal of a lifetime. I told him your surely not the first one on the internet to see this. I mean afterall if you read it on the internet it has to be true

It's either the biggest scam or the luckiest find. I am betting on the first.

Says it has a clear title, but maybe it's questionable and slid by the authorities. Looks pretty nice.

Ad says a/c. If it is, it's aftermarket. I don't see any vents, factory or added. No engine pictures. I can't see p/s either.

Probably not a scam, but a lure. Most likely some clown that watched too many BJ auctions and the price is actually $134k when you call.

It has to be legit, nothings fake on the interweb is it?

Corvettemikes close to him and would buy it in a heartbeat.

If you get burnt on this its your own fault.

Ask yourself if that was your car how long and how many people do you know that would buy that in 5 minutes?

Is the guy a hermit?

There is a sucker born everyday.

Not there today, but there are two notable cars there. One is a non original convertible automatic that looks to be a pretty decent driver, for less than $20K (http://classiccars.com/listings/view...-florida-33762).

Compare that to a basket case that has not been driven in years (http://classiccars.com/listings/view...lifornia-90210) for $22,750!

I think one of the 67s pics or more are fakes, but I think from dash and steering column that it is a repo body built on a monte carlo.

The fire car is from BH Club and their pics always look better.

That sight has tons of fake cars.

As good as it looks in pics it might be worth 20k.

No, it's not - it's not a Corvette - it's a Corvette replica, built on a used GM "G"-Body (Monte Carlo) chassis. They were made originally by the (drum roll, please)... "Nice Car Company".

But ... Was it presented as a replica ? If not I call it a scam...
The ad has been pulled so I can't go back and re-look at it...

It was pretty obvious from the underhood photos, dash & cluster photos, console photos, and the photo of the "trunk" lid open. If you read the fine print closely, it also said it was a replica on a GM chassis. I remembered the "Nice Car Company" from my kit car days back in the 80's-90's.

The 67 that comes up on the link now is not the same 67 that came up when this was posted. That one had stock gauges and was located in Calif. This one says Clearwater. It was listed as 437/435 hp and was higher priced (a little)

When you follow the link, it takes you to their website, and then at the top it says " the car you are looking for is no longer available. Here are some similar cars" (or something close). The original link was for a big block that was very nice. The price said $34K. I don't know what the deal was, but it is long gone for whatever price. If you click now, you get neither the original car, or the kit. It changes often.
