Motor Pic!
This is the '67 427 motor I picked up a few months ago.
I was able to find a '67 intake manifold that came with correctly dated carburetors.
I removed and replaced the cam, put hardened seat valves into the heads as well as rebuilding the carbs.
Should be a cool motor for the Nomad!
(Just sharing my other money pit!)
Now back to work on the '62!

Thanks for the comments Guys!
Not quite sure on the paint just yet. It was actually finished (I thought), but the paint popped so I pulled it back down. Then I found that the body work was atrocious!
So I had the entire body re-built to ensure every bit of rust was removed. The guy who worked the metal is nothing short of a true artist! There are actually welds on the rear panel, and the only way you can tell is by a slight difference in the metal color. He truly does know how to work metal.
I keep leaning towards black, but just not sure yet.
The suspension is dropped spindles with tubular A-arms. The rear leafs have been placed into pockets in the frame. A Ford 9" is the choice for the rear end. Check out the pic of the gas tank. Again, the work of a friend of mine.....a metal genius!
I don't have much time, as most of my efforts are going towards the '62, but I do hope to get to this sometime next year.
Thanks again for the supporting comments!

Though I am going to have to break down and buy my wife a new car. She's still driving the Toyota 4 runner we bought in 2005. It now has 237,000 miles on it! Fortunately, she just wants another 4 runner!

I don't see too many 55 Nomads around here, There are a lot more super slick 56 Nomads than any other years. Especially a blue and gray one that I would almost trade my 62 for.
Here's a picture of the one I see around here. hope you like green.

September 13 we have an all Chevy show at the Museum of Transportation which usually brings a lot of Tri- Fives from a four atate area. If I see any 55 Nomads I'll get some pictures, it might help you find a color you like.

That was how only the 55 Nomad was made. No other 55 Chevrolet's had full rear wheel openings, not even the sedan deliveries.

Yep, Richard knows his Nomads!
'55 Nomad is the only year with the rear wheel wells like this. '56 & '57 both have partial cover on the rear wheels, as well as subsequent years that even had 4 doors.
Also, Richard that '55 is bright!!
I'll look forward to other pictures.
Thanks,
Pat

These wheels are ordered out of a firm in San Leandro, CA. They are Team III wheels.
Also ordered the spinners from the same place.
You can go to their website and view the many different wheels they offer.

I have been following both your 62 Corvette and 55 Nomad builds for awhile (other forum for your Trifive).
My fascination is that I too own a 64 Corvette Restomod AND a 55 Nomad currently being finished at Hot Rod Dynamics. The build thread for those interested is

Here is a picture of my 55 Nomad:
And let's not forget the 64 Corvette
I will continue to follow your builds!!!
Happy Motoring.
