Great story and awesome cars! Hopefully he'll join the forum and gain a wealth of knowledge here too!

Konner's salesmen could be real a holes.
I lived in Paramus and stopped there often to look at the vettes.
Bought mine in 74 from a mechanic that worked at Car Care Center, just north of the
parkway on 17.

Nice story. But a question. You mention his car being a 327/350hp car with Powerglide. AFAIK the highest HP motor you could order with automatic was 300hp. Am I missing something?

Also, does anyone know why you couldn't order the 350hp with PG? One could order a 427/390 and 427/400 hp cars with auto, so why not the 327/350?
You're likely right. The ad for the car says simply that the car has a 327 with no HP rating. The engine is dressed like a 350HP, with the aluminum and chrome bits, so I went ahead and assumed the engine has the HiPo version. But maybe not.

No big deal! Dressed up or not, a beautiful car you both have there! You'll just have to challenge him to a little stoplight Grand Prix to see if his motor is actually a L79!

I'd imagine Zora figured the lower-hp small and big-block engines were going to be used 99+% for street driving, and PG availability was a Corvette tradition. But the 350hp SBC and 435hp BB would VERY likely see street racing (Shhhh!) and track event use, and production "performance automatics" were still in the future.

Don't think you could get Powerglide with a '67 L88 either.
