Default C1 Fitment Issue: 16 Inch Torque Thrust IIS

I have a C1 (1960) currently with stock suspension and factory wheels and tires and would like to try a set of torque thrust IIs to swap out to run down the course in Elkhart, WI next year. My friend who lives an hour from me has a set of 16 x 8 TTIIs with size P235/75/r16s on them and I want to know if the rims will fit. I've read online that 16x7s are the widest that will fit, but has anyone tried to mount 8" rims with success and no rubbing on the rears or fronts turn to turn?

I don't mind swapping out the tires for a different size like 225 wide and 60 or 65 mm tall, but would like to know if I will run into issues based on the width of the rims themselves.

Thanks!!

Ted

No, they won't.
