I want to replace carpet in my C2. Not sure how I want to do padding and insulation. Where do I post to get suggestions on same?

You just did. You may want to try a search as well.

Personally I used Reflectix from Lowes. Probably not the best but reasonably priced, easy to install and helps to reduce cabin heat.

Thanks Tom, that makes sense. Did you use it on your car? Did you use padding also? Have a good weekend.

Yes used it in my 65. Did not use jute padding. Reflectix only. I have sidepipes so it's probably not as hot inside as an under car exhaust car. Make sure you have the transmission insulation installed as well.

I am lucky enough to have 2 c2 convertibles. One has a reflective insulation and the other just has pad. Both are undercar exhaust. The one with the reflective insulation stays cooler and there is less road noise. Vettenuts is doing a special where the whole thing is cut for you for $99 for their base kit. I have installed some butyl insulation in a couple of c3s. It helped with both noise and insulation but was work to install it. Having Vettenuts precut it for you makes it easy and there is a value to that.

As for carpet, look at Rock Auto and compare their price to the Corvette parts suppliers even if they give you 10-20% off during a sale. I came across it a few weeks ago while buying mechanical parts for a c3. $200 for full set cut pile with padding both front and rear. Comes shipped direct from ACC. Excellent product. Also have c2 carpet (look under interior, then flooring).

I used the insulation kit from Vettenuts and also the carpet with the backing. It was a tight fit in some areas due to the thickness of the two. I also installed it back February so working with the carpet was difficult due to the cold temp. I bought the carpet from Wilcox during one of their weekend sales and they were supplied by Al Knoch.
