Default 1966 327 (300HP) Wrong ECL code?

Found a nice looking 1966 327 (300HP) Convertible in Nassau Blue and White/Blue interior here in Sweden. The price seems reasonable too? Around $43k (if I would have imported it from USA)

http://www.dreamfactory.dk/corvette-...ette-cabriolet

Not my favorite color combo but I thought that I would check if the numbers matched. The below is what I found:

Engine Pad:
Engine ID - 6106626 = Correct VIN
Engine number - FIII7HR = Built in Flint Michigan November 17. HR = 327ci, 300HP, automat, air injection

Style Trim:
Body Build Date - C22 = 22 November.
Style Code - 66 467 = 1966 Convertible
Trim Code - 450BC = White + Blue (Vinyl). BC = Does not exist

Body Paint:
Body Number - S2105 = St. Louis + a number that seems reasonable
Paint Code - 976AA = Nassau Blue

VIN:
194676S106626 = 1966 Convertible built in St. Louis Friday 22 or monday 25 November 1965.

Everything seem to match up with the exception of the ECL code after the Trim Code. According to my findings the "450" trim code was never followed by "BC".

For 1966 model year a TRIM Code of 450 BC indicates the following:

White/blue vinyl, convertible body, with automatic transmission, but does not have power windows, headrests, and auxiliary hardtop.

From Roy Sinor/Al Grenning Book on C2 Corvette Trim Tags. As I mentioned a few days before to you, Roy wrote the book.

The "BC" following the 450 Trim means white/blue vinyl convertible with M35 (auto) trans, but excludes A31, A82, and C07

Above from NCRS trim tag book, pg 56.

Ohh... "BC" was not included in Noland Adams book. But that means that there is still hope that it might be a real car!

His ECL codes are for options not the trim tag To decode the trim tag ECL you need the NCRS trim tag book that's refreanced above

So, I'm going to fly and check this car on monday...

I found the original ad for it in the US: http://www.usedcorvettesforsale.com/...ale-65508.html

Anyone that recognize it and/or have any comments?

Very nice looking car. I see a few minor things that's incorrect like the seat belt buckles. also that is a fair cry from the 67 427 cars you were asking about the other week. your going from one end of the corvette world to anther end. you might get some grief on a 327/300 auto. but that engine if its "right" runs like a sewing machine and is all around a decent driving engine. it may not have the power of the other engines, but if your only using it to putz around town its great

Yes, a Big Block seems to be outside my reach at the moment. I thought, better spend less money on a car and learn. I will keep looking for that 67 BB

Great looking car at a fair price. Check it out for frame and cage rust rust as well as mechanicals. If you like it take it out for a drive if you still like it, buy it.

I think someone with more exposure to stamp pads should look at it. Dennis

You might want to check the casting number and casting date on the block, and see if it all matches up correctly.

I remember it being for sale. I did not look at it but was interested in buying it for my wife, however was trying to sell my 2013 at the time to make room.

The dealer that sold it in the US has always been a straightforward person who deals in high quality cars, in my experience.
