Default 1966 Front Spindle?

I am in the process of rebuilding the front suspension and found significant grooves in the right front spindle. I'm having a hard time finding a replacement spindle, any recommendations?

It was a long time ago now but when I needed a replacement spindle, Bairs was able to fix me up. Definately worth a call to them.

If I see your picture correctly the spindle looks fine. Both Bearing surfaces should be flat and smooth and they appear to be flat and smooth. You should show no heat dis color (bluing) and in this picture I don't see any.

The grooves appear to be between the bearing support surfaces. If that area bothers you polish it smooth being careful not to touch the bearing surfaces at all and you are good to go.

It almost looks like the wheel came off at one point due to a lost bearing adjustment nut.
Are the threads OK on the end of the spindle?

thanks guys… the grooves actually go up against the 1.25" wall edge. It's hard to tell if the groove is affecting the bearing itself. There was no play in the wheel and no issues turing on the spindle. It may be okay, but since I've got all the suspension torn apart and being powder coated I thought it might be worth replacing. No damage to the threads.

If you're saying the back of the bearing is working a grove into the shoulder at the back of the spindle shaft then yeah, that's not good. That does seem like a strange wear pattern there in the middle?

The bearings should slip on to the bearing race with a tight fit. You can push them on but should have no play at all. I would slip the new bearing in place and inspect closely.
If there is play the spindle is scrap unfortunately.
