Opening the hood & leaving it open after every drive - Not sure why I do that
(Could be thinking my wife would get the hint and clean the engine compartment?)

Severely abusing it. Street racing and beating the crap out of every ricer that asks for a beating.
Driving it long distances in heavy rainstorms without the wipers working.

I just can't help (might need therapy) mashing the pedal and getting close to red line while goin' through the gears from time to time.

I know I really shouldn't since I have a clean driving record and original motor but the urge is soooo strong.

Somebody help me!!!

That is a MUST DO, because if you do not exercise (red line) your piston ring all the way to the top of the cylinder it will create a ridge in the top of the cylinder
Besides the needle in the tach is mechanical and the grease on the gears must be kept moving
The thermostat was stuck and only high RPM would "shake" it open
I have many more!!!!

Yep ! My bad habit is driving too fast on the street, doing burnouts as I leave the car cruises and like Bill spending my Corvette money on my racecar that just consumes money at a VERY rapid pace. Racing is very addictive, now I'm even building a Corvette race car . The wife just rolls her eyes and shakes her head !!

Yep probably many on here factually think these thoughts as to engines. I think by about the 1st grade, I learned that the rpms have no bearing on how high pistons travel up and down in a cylinder.

Yup - a stroke is a stroke is a stroke.............. however, how fast it takes place can sometimes produce better results!

Guys making their dates and girlfriends-- I have heard of this before, taking their shoes off. That seems strange to me, and i don't think the girls in my neighborhood would have tolerated that! Plus the shoes still have to go in the car and plus you have place mats! I would think that making a woman part with her shoes would be a bad thing!

Now I did try to maneuver the cutest one of the group to sit on the center jump pad so I could snake my arm under or thru her legs for shifting. And pulling a 4th gear shift was a cheap thrill! Or I would eventually switch to passenger, so your cute daughters would end up sitting on my lap as the night went on! You know, I just never hit it off with their Fathers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm too old to go that fast anymore............. but, like the Toby Kieth song says:

"I'm not as good as I once was....

But I'm as good once as I ever was!"

Default So is anyone here neurotic?

Habits such as setting tire air pressure based on having or not having a passenger?

Getting that oil right exactly on the line each and every time, even prior to just backing it down the driveway?

Exact ratios on radiator coolant mixture?

Windex on the cleaning of the headlights?

Do you have a toothbrush in with your car cleaning supplies? I will take a lot of heat on this last one, just watch!

Do you travel with a repair manual? i will probably take some extra crap on this one! And this will probably turn into an entire thread debate!

Etc.

Don't know about neurotic, but I'm borderline ocd when it comes to spark plugs - I pull one or two after every drive to see how they're burning!

Speeding. blasting rock and roll (real music) to try and irritate the 'rap' crowd.

Default I will share one of mine

I was running cable dumps there for awhile and I would roll up next to these new performance cars with full open headers or would pull them open if I didn't appreciate someones loud music.

Ps I have known guys that all car repairs stop immediately, when the last beer from the fridge is finished.

Did the guys demanding that female riders go shoeless drive wearing clean socks? Or use "car only" slippers?

If not, just another example of 20th century male chauvinist pig behavior.

Its a different world now but all people were told if there shoes were dirty to take them off or clean them before they rode in my 57 Chevy .
Took my sister for a ride in my 67 corvette after a ride in my Sunfire yellow big block corvette new paint job we all smoked in those days.

She lit her cigarette with the car lighter and held it out the window and kept hitting on the outside of window on my new paint she said she didn't want to get ashes inside car , dropped her off quickly. Today still holds true dirty shoes you not riding with me.
